The calculators
Every calculator on the site is free. There is no account, no payment, and no upload. The homepage gives the matching width or height for a ratio, or simplifies two sides you already have. The converter gives a crop and a pad. The other tools start from a different number: megapixels, inches and DPI, bitrate and duration, pixel aspect, a decimal such as 1.85, a screen diagonal, or PPI.

These terms of use do not give you rights to a picture you apply those numbers to.
The public datasets
You may reuse ratios.json, ratios.csv and resolutions.json under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0). Attribution means naming Aspect Ratio Calculator and linking to the page you took the figures from, or to the methodology page. Do not suggest that we endorse your product or that your copy is the original dataset.
You may quote a short result from an article on the same terms: credit the page, and do not present a rewritten number as if it came from us. If the license on the files changes, these terms of use and the methodology page will change in the same edit. Until that happens, CC BY 4.0 is the license that applies to those downloads.
Acceptable use
You may link to any public page.
Do not crawl the site while pretending to be Googlebot, Bingbot, or another crawler named in robots.txt, and do not ignore the rules in that file. Ordinary browsing, and the public JSON and CSV files, are the supported ways to read the data.
Do not present this site’s name or its Google AdSense publisher ID as your own.
No warranty on a result you publish
The site is provided as is. Formulas follow the aspect ratio methodology: simplification by the greatest common divisor, the other side from the locked ratio, floor for a crop, and ceil for a pad. Those rules are what we correct against when you write in. They are not a promise that a platform, a printer, or a broadcaster will accept the result.
When a vendor help page and a table on this site disagree, follow the vendor for anything you are about to upload or print, and email the URL so we can recheck our row. Platform sizes change. Each cited row has a last verified date. That date is the day we read the source. It is not a promise that the vendor will keep the spec.
We are not liable for a crop that removed a logo, a print that came out the wrong physical size, a file that missed a bitrate target, or a layout that broke because a social app cropped the upload again on its side. The contact page is how you tell us about a number that does not match the methodology, which is the class of mistake we can fix.
